A wonderfully illustrated book of dinosaur life with full-page paintings by Jay H. Matternes and photographs of fossils in situ as well as museum reconstructions. Doctors and Diseases in the Roman Empire
Published in Hardcover by Univ of Oklahoma Pr (Txt) (August, 1900)
Author: Ralph Jackson
Average review score:

A must-read for all interested in medical history
This was a good, well-written, interesting book. It gives you a peak at the horrible lives of people living thousands of years ago. It is a good overview while at the same time it gives you enough detail that you really understand what was going on. You should really read this book, although it's not a pleasent topic, as such. It creates some vivid pictures in your mind, but ones that could be importnat in many lines of work.

Does Anybody Else Look Like Me? A Parent's Guide to Raising Multiracial Children
Published in Hardcover by Perseus Publishing (17 June, 2003)
Author: Donna Jackson Nakazawa
Average review score:

the book I was looking for
As a parent of multiracial children, I was delighted to find this book, which not only answered the questions I had, but gave me a wealth of information, strategies and tips that gives me confidence about the future of our family. While the statistics and psychological data are compelling, the most interesting facet of the book for me was the interviews with over 60 multiracial families. i would highly recommend this book to anyone concerned with the issues faced by multiracial children and their families and parents.

Donald Jackson : king of blades
Published in Unknown Binding by Queen City Pub. ()
Author: George Gross
Average review score:

Truly Inspiring!
Whether you are a figure skater or not, Donald Jackson's biography will help to inspire you to push yourself farther than you ever thought possible. An entertaining and easy-to-follow book, Mr. Gross profiles the career of 1962 World Champion and men's Canadian figure skater Donald Jackson, who landed the first triple lutz in skating history -- a jump that was so difficult at the time it would be years before anyone else duplicated his feat. This skater's tale of overcoming obstacles, the sorrow of the 1961 plane crash that killed the entire US figure skating team and coaches, and most of all, dealing with the weight of the expectations of the skating world will surprise you -- mostly in how hard you will find to put it down! Excellent, excellent book and a GREAT look at skating in the early 1960s. If you are a fan of the sport of figure skating, this book will find a place of distinction in your collection.

Dreams
Published in Paperback by Lake Pub Co (June, 1978)
Author: Anita Jackson
Average review score:

Great Reading!
Dreams is one of Anita Jacksons better works. In this book she develops the idea of precognition, or knowing the future before it happens. This raises a serious question; can the future be changed? Read on to find the exciting answer to this question, and more.

In addition to the philosphical discussion in Dreams, the book also presents a vivid picture of current and previous history on trains. If you like locomotives, this book is for you!

The Drummer Boy's Battle (Trailblazer Books)
Published in Paperback by Bethany House (January, 1997)
Authors: Dave Jackson, Neta Jackson, and Julian Jackson
Average review score:

The first modern nurse--Florence Nightingale
I strongly recommend this book. This is a great book about a boy in the Crimean War who helped Florence Nightingale. This book makes you want to read more and more! It is one of the best books I have ever read--I was really inspired by the love and care that Florence Nightingale gave to the wounded and sick soldiers. It was kind of bloody in places, but it makes you pray and feel sorry for the bad conditions they were in. I have read most of the Trailblazer books, and this one is my favorite!

Edward Lear's Nonsense
Published in Hardcover by Angus & Robertson (July, 1992)
Authors: Edward Lear, P. Mark Jackson, and Mark P. Jackson
Average review score:

No Nonsense
Though Wines is renowned for architecture, his illustrations for Lear are emphatic of his talents as an artist; these are a combination of the beautiful line and sensuous watercolor qualities of Arthur Rackham crossed with the avant-garde and perverse sensibilities of Edward Gorey. An intriguing perspective on the poems of Edward Lear. Lear himself must have applauded if he'd had the chance. Provocative for adults, yet children will be tickled by it. Nice gift book. The title makes it suitable for all sorts of occasions.
